Desjardins backs promising new leader in the industrial screen printing market

Montréal, January 20, 2009 – Les Reproductions BLB Inc. today announced the completion of two acquisitions that consolidate and enhance its position in the industrial identification market. These transactions are the result of reinvestment by Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins and the Rive-Sud Desjardins Business Centre allowing Reproductions BLB to carry out its expansion project.

“Backing Reproductions BLB’s management team in the Décalcomanie Artistic Ltée and Idenco Canada Ltée business acquisition projects reflects our confidence in the company,” said Desjardins’ Roger Durand, Vice-President, Development Capital. “Four years ago, we made an initial investment to transfer the ownership of this family business to external managers. This injection of capital allowed the business to continue to develop its strong growth potential in this market. The recent acquisitions and remarkable track record of these young managers for profitability, sales and output are evidence of a successful business transfer and a promising future,” he concludes.

Reproductions BLB executives, Hugo Leclair and René-Pierre Roussel, are delighted with the outcome of the transactions that, in addition to consolidating their market, are an innovative approach to the succession crunch facing Québec SMEs. “We’re especially proud of the trust that’s grown up between Desjardins and the Reproduction BLB team,” they note. “Not only did they believe in our strategy, and in us as entrepreneurs, but they did everything they could to help us to reach our goal even in tough economic times.”

Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins honoured Les Reproductions BLB in the Coup de coeur category at the 2007 Prix Bruno-Riverin awards. The company was also a finalist in the Entreprise manufacturière de l’année category at the 2005 edition of the Gala Dominique Rollin of the Chambre de Commerce de la Rive-Sud.
