To value and nurture the best of Québec entrepreneurship

Transfer and expansion

Founded in 1987 by Jacques Gauthier and his partner France, Groupe Restos Plaisirs operates 12 concept restaurants in the Québec City region, including Cochon Dingue, Lapin Sauté, Jaja, Paris Grill, Café du Monde and Ciel. Also providing catering and banquet services, the Groupe is home to some 880 employees, with up to 950 during the summer.

With help from the Capital croissance PME II fund, Groupe Restos Plaisirs takes an important step in the succession plan it began in 2011. The financing arrangement also allows Groupe Restos Plaisirs to open two new Cochon Dingue restaurants; namely, a Lévis location in May 2017, and a Place Ste-Foy location to open soon.

Capital croissance PME, the combined strength of Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins and the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, is an investment fund with the primary mission of providing patient capital to Québec SMEs to carry out a variety of expansion projects. It strives in particular to keep SME ownership in Québec as entrepreneurs start thinking about taking their retirement. Managed by Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif, CCPME is designed to meet the financing needs of Québec companies, primarily in the form of subordinated loans of less than $5 million.
