Vice-president, Governance and Compliance

Anne-Marie is Vice-President Governance and Compliance, with Desjardins Business Capital régional et coopératif. Coordinating the selection, nomination and evaluation of external directors designated to serve on the boards of the SMEs in which CRCD makes minority or majority equity investments, she exercises responsability for governance of these partner firms.

Overseeing all corporate secretary functions for the manager’s funds under management, including CRCD, Anne-Marie is responsible for governance and ethics issues, and supervises regulatory compliance. She joined the Desjardins team in 2013, as Director, SME Governance.

Beginning her career in the property and casualty insurance division of Québec’s largest insurer, Anne-Marie went on to become owner and vice-president of Poitras, Larue, Rondeau, subsequently Univesta Insurance and Financial Services.

With in-depth knowledge of financial industry regulations and governance and compliance issues, she served from 2003 to 2010 on the first management team of the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) as Superintendent, Client Services and Compensation. Anne-Marie was also a member of the board of directors of the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés between 2005 and 2010.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in law and a master’s degree in applied ethics from Université de Sherbrooke, Anne-Marie serves on the boards of Maison Théâtre and Éditions Protégez-vous. She is also a member of the Strategy Committee of the Institut de la confiance dans les organisations.

Anne-Marie earned her Certified Corporate Director designation from the Collège des administrateurs de sociétés in 2007, and has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1993.
